No Fire For You
18 For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest 19 and the sound of a trumpet and a voice whose words made the hearers beg that no further messages be spoken to them. 20 For they could not endure the order that was given, “If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.” 21 Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.”

No Fire For You
The Lord prepared the fires of Hell for the devil and his minions. He did not create it for men. He desires that all people repent, turn from their sins, and live. The Lord's Law is immovable and it destroys us. The Gospel, the good news that Jesus died and rose for you, resurrects you and gives you the very gifts that Jesus won for you. This Lord claims you in your Baptism. He makes you his own and puts his name on you. He promises to come back for you and take you to himself forever. You will hear a trumpet on that day and the call of the archangel. There will be no doubt on that day. The call for you will be clear. Thanks be to God!
