Forgiven Once for All
15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,”
17 then he adds,
“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”
18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
Heb 10:15–18

Forgiven Once for All
The Holy Spirit testifies that through Christ’s sacrifice, our sins are truly forgiven. Unlike the repeated sacrifices of the Old Testament, Christ’s offering was once for all. No further sacrifice is needed. The cross stands as the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promise, a new covenant where He remembers our sins no more. We often carry guilt, feeling as though we must do something to make up for our failures. But the Gospel declares that Christ has already done it all. His blood secures our redemption, and His righteousness is given to us. There is no more offering for sin because His perfect sacrifice is complete. Through Baptism, we are joined to this promise. Through the Lord’s Supper, we receive His body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Rest in this truth: in Christ, your sins are removed forever. You are His, fully and completely.
