Rest in Christ’s Word

11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Heb 4:11–13

Rest in Christ’s Word
The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. It exposes our sin, cutting through every excuse and pretense. As we read and hear God’s Word, it judges our thoughts and intentions, leaving no room for self-righteousness. This can be unsettling. But the purpose of this piercing is not to harm but to heal. God’s Word leads us to repentance, revealing our desperate need for the Savior. At the cross, Christ bore the full weight of our sins, enduring the judgment we deserve. In Him, we find the rest promised to God’s people. As we strive to enter His rest, we rely not on our works but on Christ’s finished work. His Word assures us of forgiveness, sustains us in faith, and strengthens us for holy living. Trust in the Word made flesh, for He alone provides true and eternal rest.
