The Everlasting Word

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Mark 13:28–31

The Everlasting Word
God has created this time before the second coming of Jesus so that we may come to faith and, in turn, call others to faith and salvation through His everlasting Word. Jesus speaks to His disciples and to us about the certainty of His Word using the parable of the fig tree. As we see the signs of change in nature, so too should we recognize the signs of God's kingdom. "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away". This promise offers deep comfort amidst the chaos and impermanence of our world. As Christians, we hold firm to the assurance that God's Word is unchanging and eternal. In our daily lives, the shifting sands of culture, opinions, and even our own experiences can lead to uncertainty and fear. Yet, in Scripture, we find a rock-solid foundation. Jesus’ words are trustworthy and true, providing a beacon of hope, stability, and salvation. Let us hold fast to His teachings, knowing that they will endure forever, guiding us with unwavering truth and leading us to eternal life in Christ.
