The Impossible Made Possible
And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” Peter began to say to him, “See, we have left everything and followed you.” Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

The Impossible Made Possible
The old saying goes, “Money can’t buy happiness.” While this is true, it should be pointed out that, more importantly, money can’t buy salvation. Jesus teaches His disciples that not even people with the greatest worldly means can enter the kingdom of God on their own merit. We cannot justify ourselves; we receive salvation solely by grace through faith in Jesus. Jesus presents a challenge regarding wealth and the kingdom of God. He declares, "How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!" The disciples, astonished, wonder who can be saved. Jesus replies, "With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God." We are confronted with our reliance on material security, urging us to fully trust God's provision and grace. Though wealth is not sinful in and of itself, it can create a false sense of independence, leading us away from the dependency on God necessary for salvation. Yet, Jesus' words also bring profound comfort. Salvation, an impossible feat for humanity, is made possible by God's grace through Christ. Our hope lies not in our ability to earn or secure our place in God's kingdom but in His boundless mercy. May we embrace this truth, abandoning our earthly dependencies, and rest in the assurance that with God, all things are possible.
