Strength in Weakness

11 I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not at all inferior to these super-apostles, even though I am nothing. 12 The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works. 13 For in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!
2 Co 12:11–13

Strength in Weakness
Paul’s words to the Corinthians reveal a painful truth: human pride often resists God’s ways. Though Paul had given sacrificially, the Corinthians struggled to appreciate his service. Yet Paul’s response is not self-pity or anger but a focus on Christ. Paul points out their misplaced values, chasing eloquence and showmanship while neglecting the humble, Christ-centered proclamation of the Gospel. Through this, we see a reflection of the theology of the cross. God does not work through worldly power and strength but through what appears weak and foolish. The cross of Christ is the ultimate display of this paradox. The King of kings, beaten and crucified, achieves victory over sin, death, and the devil. Paul’s ministry mirrors this reality: in humility and weakness, God’s power is made perfect. May we embrace the cross, rejoicing in Christ’s strength for us, even when the world fails to see its worth.
