11 If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? 12 If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more?
Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ. 13 Do you not know that those who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings? 14 In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.

Sowing Spiritual
The Lord cares for the whole of you. He is not just concerned about the soul or the spiritual side of you. He sustains you in body and soul. He gives you food to eat and neighbors to care for even as he gives you a preacher to hear and a church which to belong. He sows Good Seed by the preaching of his Word into your ears, but he reaps from every part of your life. This Seed grows into every aspect of your life and every part of who you are. This Jesus transforms you. So, the preacher is one of those neighbors to care for, to support, to bear his burdens. The preacher is sent by God with the Good Seed of Jesus' Word and his Sacraments for the forgiveness of your sins and your everlasting life in him. Thanks be to God that he transforms us to be like him. He does all things well.
