Comforting One Another

Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, and Mark the cousin of Barnabas (concerning whom you have received instructions—if he comes to you, welcome him), and Jesus who is called Justus. These are the only men of the circumcision among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.
Col 4:10–11

Comforting One Another
The Lord Jesus brings together his holy people and Gentiles called by his Word into his Church. He dies for the whole world. He grants life, forgiveness, and salvation to the whole world by his bitter suffering and death and his love for you. He puts you in families and places you in a congregation. This is by design. He knows that everyone you worship with is a sinner, but he wants to build you up together in his Son, so he grants you a life together around the Word proclaimed and the Sacraments given. This is comfort. The Christians you worship with are your brothers and sisters in Christ. Jesus has made them that way. He has made you part of his family. Thanks be to God.
