The Fullness of God

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

The Fullness of God
            We all love the spotlight. Even those who are shy or introverted, still at a basic level, want to be honored and adored. We can’t help it. Ever since the Fall we have been turned inward on ourselves, more focused on the trinity that rules our lives, Me, Myself, and I. But all that changes when the Holy Spirit draws us into a relationship with Christ Jesus. We are made to look up and out, to cast our eyes upon Jesus and our neighbors. For in Christ, the fullness of God was pleased to dwell; the totality of God with all His divine attributes began to dwell in Christ at the moment of His conception by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary. And in our neighbor, we see a fellow brother or sister created in the image of God. We see someone to whom peace has been given by the blood of the cross. And in this new relationship, we are held together, for we are in Christ.
