Contentment in Christ

39 A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. 40 Yet in my judgment she is happier if she remains as she is. And I think that I too have the Spirit of God.

Contentment in Christ
Paul reminds us that whether in marriage or singleness, our contentment is found in Christ alone. The cross of Christ frees us from the weight of life’s circumstances, assuring us that our ultimate fulfillment is in Him, not in our relationship status. The world may pressure us to find worth in marriage or independence, but Christ offers a more profound joy grounded in His death and resurrection. Through His cross, we receive forgiveness, life, and identity that transcend earthly ties. Whether we marry or remain single, we are bound to Christ, and in Him, we have everything we need. Let us rest in the sufficiency of the cross today.
