Made to Stand

As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
Romans 14:1-4

Made to Stand
We are surrounded by so many a person who are also being troubled by their sin and the attacks of the world and the devil. They have sinful natures like you and me. Thus, our God bids us be gentle. He bids us to give a defense of the faith that resides in us. He bids us love our enemies and our neighbors and our friends. We should give the revenge and the attacks to God and take up, instead, love for those around us. Love, especially the Christians who are weak among you. And what will sustain you, Christian? The blood of Jesus will. The work of Jesus is to save and reconcile you to Himself. His sacrifice is your strength. It is your neighbor's strength, too. It is the weakness of God that has toppled the power and authority of death and the grave. The devil is undone, and the world has no place to stand. You are made strong by the weakness of Jesus. You are made like Jesus in his love and compassion. You love because he first loved you.
