Discipline

3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. 4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?
“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6       For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”

Heb 12:3–6

Discipline
In the name of the Father and the + Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lord disciplines those whom he loves. He loves you. He is your Father and you are his child. Every father should discipline his sons because he loves them. If good earthly fathers know how to give good things to their children, how much more will the Heavenly Father give you the Holy Spirit when you ask him. So you have a Heavenly Father that disciplines, but he also gives you all things. He sends his Son to the cross to have you as his own. He grants you faith and guards and protects you against all evil. Even as the attacks come upon you and his church, know that he is fighting. Do not grow weary. Be strong. Be courageous. You have faith. You are the Baptized. You are children of God. In the name of + Jesus. Amen.
