Perfected in Christ

39 And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
Heb 11:39–40

Perfected in Christ
The saints of old clung to God’s promises, yet they did not see their fulfillment in their lifetimes. Though commended for their faith, they awaited something greater, something we now know: Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of all God’s promises. Their faith pointed forward to the cross, where Christ bore the sins of the world. The writer of Hebrews reminds us that we, too, are part of God’s grand design. The faithful who came before us are not perfected apart from us; rather, we are joined together in Christ, who makes all things complete. His perfect life, atoning death, and victorious resurrection unite us with the saints of every age. We live in that same faith, looking to Christ, who has already secured our salvation. Though we may not see every promise fulfilled in this life, we trust in the One who is faithful, knowing He will bring all things to completion in Him.
