The Son Who Saves
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
“You are my Son,
today I have begotten you”?
Or again,
“I will be to him a father,
and he shall be to me a son”?
6 And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.”
Heb 1:5–6

The Son Who Saves
The author of Hebrews emphasizes the supremacy of Christ, the Son of God, over the angels. While angels are mighty servants of God, the Son is uniquely begotten, sharing the very essence of the Father. This distinction is essential to our faith: the angels cannot redeem us, but the Son can and does. The Father’s declaration, “You are My Son,” underscores Christ’s divine identity and mission. By taking on human flesh, Jesus accomplished what no angel could, He bore our sins on the cross. His blood, shed for you, reconciles us to God and secures eternal life. The worship commanded for the Son highlights His unique role as Savior. When we kneel before Him, we do so not in fear but in thanksgiving, for His cross has turned judgment into grace. Rejoice in the Son, who alone brings salvation, and give thanks for His unmatchable love and sacrifice.
